Today's painting is a bit of a departure from my "normal" landscapes and it is not nearly done. It's 12"x12" and is an attempt at Sunday's sunset.
I've been wanting to try the bright and wispy pink clouds that so often accompany our sunsets. I need to make them much more prominent in my painting, but hopefully still somehow keep them looking light and transparent. This will be a challenge, as will those branches (see below). I snapped the photo on Sunday evening when my husband I were walking home from the store. Enid is not what anyone would call a walkable town, but we do live just a few blocks from a strip mall. So, we often walk there to get small grocery loads, to go to Ace, to get hair cuts and for gelato.
