30 paintings in 30 days: Day 6

Today I am working on a commission I received through Minted. Here is the painting in progress and the client's photo of a harbor in Maine.

Minted, which started as a stationery company, also offers art prints, a variety of home goods and now, original art. This is the third commission I've accepted through Minted since the program started in late summer. Of course, Minted takes a cut for connecting the artist and buyer and for facilitating the transaction, but I have been happy with the ability to reach a new, wide audience.

The last one I completed was a rush-request Christmas present. It was a small painting and I was happy to be able to get it to the client in time. She said, "My husband and I absolutely love your painting. It is just perfect in every way." She gave me several photos from their Texas ranch and said she loves my oranges and blues.

The first commission was for a woman in North Carolina and the painting is of Martha's Vineyard. Here it is in her home.

Happy Friday, everyone! We have a lovely blanket of snow today and it is making my studio wonderfully bright. xo
