My creative efforts today have been split between the kitchen and the studio. While we lived in Spokane, we often hosted or attended hump day dinner with our group of friends. We're trying to reinstate this nice tradition in Enid. So, I made a carrot cake earlier, butternut squash mac and cheese last night and have this roasted pork shoulder smelling up the whole house right now. I've made it a few times before and highly recommend it. Don't worry, we have our guests bringing the veggies. Anyway -- I have spent the rest of today working on this painting.
If it looks familiar, that's because I painted a 12"x12" from the same photo last week. This painting is 30"x40" and giving me grief. Right now, There is way too much going on in the clouds and they are too dark. The little wispy clouds in the center of the painting make the sky look dirty. So, a ways to go on this one, but I think it holds promise. The inspiration photo is below.
