This is my first painting from my new picture-taking spot. It's 24"x24" and looks best from about 10 feet (hey, we all have our strengths). At that distance, the clouds have a wonderful diffused quality.
I opted not to paint it, but amongst those trees, there is an apartment complex. My husband and I live in the neighborhood right behind those apartments. I took the photo for this painting from the back side of a strip mall. It is surrounded by fields on two sides and has a clear view of the sky in three directions. I am kicking myself for taking two years to discover it.
For tomorrow's painting, I am finishing up a commission for an assisted living facility in Oklahoma City. The large painting will hang above the fireplace, which is the first thing you see when you walk in the door.
