This painting was inspired by a gorgeous late-summer evening. The painting shows a rainbow gradient over Oregon’s Mt. Hood, with the trees of Portland in the foreground. At the time, I lived in a high-rise apartment and the apartment building had an incredible rooftop patio with views for days.
This is a very unique painting! The foreground is painted on a separate wood panel that is mounted slightly in front of the "background" sky panel. An LED light strip is mounted between the two wood panels; turn the lights on a subtle neon-style glow will illuminate the horizon. These are super cool! Using the included remote, you can choose to have a steady light or to have the light fade between different colors.
This painting was a collaboration with my husband; he cut out out the foreground panel, installed the lights, and mounted the foreground panel to the painting.
