This is the beautiful view from my parents’ house in Portland, Oregon. They look west out toward the Coast Range. This painting is of the sunset on Labor Day 2025; my husband, extended family, and I were gathered at my parents’ for dinner. While everyone was sitting out back, I ran to the front deck to photograph the cotton candy sky.
This is a very unique painting! The foreground is painted on a separate wood panel that is mounted slightly in front of the "background" sky panel. An LED light strip is mounted between the two wood panels; turn the lights on a subtle neon-style glow will illuminate the horizon. These are super cool! Using the included remote, you can choose to have a steady light or to have the light fade between different colors.
This painting was a collaboration with my husband; he cut out the foreground panel, installed the lights, and mounted the foreground panel to the painting.
